Biografia
Natasha Petrovik was born in 1988 in Shtip, Macedonia, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She pursued acting at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, earning her degree in Acting. In 2010, while still at university, she became a founding member of the independent performing arts theater, 'THEATRA'.
Natasha has gained extensive experience performing on stage, as well as in film and television, both in Macedonia and internationally.
Her film career began with the role of Dea in Milcho Manchevski's feature film "Shadows," which premiered at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival and was Macedonia's entry for the 2008 Academy Awards.
In 2009, she was cast as the lead character Samira in Juanita Wilson's debut feature "As If I Am Not There," which premiered at the 2010 Sarajevo International Film Festival. Her performance earned her nominations for 'Best International Actress' at the Irish Television and Film Awards and the International Film Festival in Milan. She won 'Best International Actress' at the 2011 Seattle International Film Festival, 'Best Acting Performance' at the End of the Pier International Film Festival in the UK, and 'Best Actress' at SIFF 2011.
Significantly, in 2011, Natasha was chosen as one of the European Shooting Stars at the Berlinale Film Festival, becoming the first actress from Macedonia to be recognized among Europe's emerging young talents at this event.
In 2012, she starred in 'The Piano Room,' directed by Igor Ivanov - Izi, which premiered at the 2013 Manaki Film Festival. That year, she also appeared in "To The Hilt," an epic directed by Academy Award nominee Stole Popov, which premiered at the 2014 Manaki Film Festival. In 2013, she portrayed Katerina in the feature film "Lazar," directed by Svetozar Ristovski, premiering in 2015.
Natasha played the lead role of Lexia in the feature film "Elixir," filmed in Berlin and directed by Brodie Higgs; it premiered at the 2015 Berlinale. She also starred alongside Bruno Ganz in "Witness," directed by Macedonian filmmaker Mitko Panov.
In 2020, she appeared in "Homo" and recently completed filming the short drama "The Blue Hour," directed by rising Macedonian female director Ana Jakimska.
