Christos Sourligas is a celebrated #1 bestselling author, award-winning filmmaker, actor, innovator, and disruptor. His debut feature, ELEPHANT SHOES, captivated the film festival circuit, earning numerous awards and selling out screenings worldwide. His second feature, HAPPY SLAPPING, was the first feature film ever shot entirely on smartphones. Christos' short film PARK EX. received the Canadian Multicultural Award from the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. He produced the documentary DOCKSIDE TO BEDSIDE: 100 YEARS OF HERZL, chronicling Canada's first free family medical clinic, which premiered on CityTV. He also produced and directed the lifestyle series GEEK ME! for Bell Media and MONTREALERS for Videotron. Christos co-authored a #1 bestselling cookbook with his mother, based on her Greek recipes, distributed globally by publishing giant Simon & Schuster. Additionally, he stars in Tony Asimakopoulos' acclaimed short film, GOOD TIMES COMING.
Before this, Christos built a career as a comedy television series distributor and producer. As Vice President of Television Sales for the renowned Just For Laughs comedy production company over 12 years, he helped bring TV shows to over 1.5 billion viewers worldwide, airing in more than 140 countries and on 100 airlines. Notably, JUST FOR LAUGHS GAGS became the first Canadian-made TV series broadcast in primetime on a US network when licensed to ABC. He also co-founded ComedyPro, the premier global annual conference for leading comedy industry figures. Later, Christos worked with prestigious production companies including QuebeComm, Encore Television, Dakota Pictures (Los Angeles), and Media Ranch.
For over two decades, he has mentored both emerging and established filmmakers, storytellers, and creatives. Christos has volunteered with numerous awards events, organizations, and festivals such as the International Emmy Awards, Banff World Television Festival Awards, ACTRA Awards, Yorkton Film Festival, Amerasia Film Festival, Professional Writers Association of Canada, and The Owl. He has also contributed to non-profits including McGill University's "Industry Insider Sessions," Montreal Film Group, Youth Employment Services, and French for the Future, serving in roles such as programming, promotion, board member, jury head, and juror.
