Linda Thompson was born in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended Kingsbury High School, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. After graduation, she spent four years at Memphis State University, majoring in English and Drama. Linda earned several titles, including Miss Tennessee Universe 1972, Miss Liberty Bowl, and Miss Shelby County, which helped fund her college education. In July 1972, she met Elvis Presley, a meeting that changed her life. They lived together at Graceland for three and a half years. Following their breakup, Linda pursued an acting career, appearing in numerous Aaron Spelling TV series, five TV pilots, and other shows, eventually becoming a regular cast member on Hee Haw for 15 years. Alongside acting, she was an accomplished poet and award-winning lyricist, earning an Emmy and receiving nominations for both an Academy Award and a Grammy. Linda married Bruce Jenner, with whom she had two sons. After keeping Caitlyn Jenner’s secret for 32 years, Linda wrote the New York Times bestselling memoir A Little Thing Called Life, published after Caitlyn publicly transitioned. The memoir received critical acclaim for its kindness and captivating storytelling. Linda was also married to David Foster; they were together for 19 years before divorcing in 2005. She continues to write and now lives quietly in Malibu, California, with her two dogs, enjoying tennis, hiking, the beach, and, above all, her family.
