Biografia
Yolanthe was born on March 19, 1985, on the Balearic island of Ibiza. Her father is Spanish, and her mother is Dutch. She relocated to the Netherlands at age 5, where she spent most of her childhood. Yolanthe began her acting career at 16.
In 2001, she appeared in the "School TV" series "Chromosomen," portraying the 14-year-old Julia. She then starred in the Dutch series "Costa." Yolanthe went to Austria to act in the film "Snow Fever." Until October 2008, she played Julia Branca in the Dutch series "Onderweg Naar Morgen." In 2006 and 2007, she featured in "URBNN" for BNN, followed by "Try Before You Die" and then "Crazy 88." In September 2006, the film "Turkish Chick," directed by Lodewijk Crijns, a nominee at the Dutch 'Gouden Kalf' Film Festival, was released. Yolanthe played Dilara, who captured the heart of a young skateboarder. At the end of 2008, she began working with the broadcasting association TROS. On October 24, 2008, she won the inaugural 'Televizier Talent Award.' In 2010, she participated in the National Song Festival and "Mijn vader is de beste," and played Mila Sol in "Flikken Maastricht." That year, Yolanthe was chosen as 'Madrina' for the Giro d'Italia. In 2012, she starred as Mariken van Dalen in an episode of the hit series "Van God Los." In 2013, she appeared as Nienke Loos in the movie "Valentino" and played Analee Calvera, the love interest of Mark Wahlberg, in the Hollywood film "Pain & Gain." In 2014, she filmed the Dutch movie "Stuk," portraying detective Saar Beerman, and also appeared in the series "Rechercheur Ria." In 2015, she starred as Shira Goudsmit, a sophisticated manager, in two seasons of the TV hit "Bluf." In 2016, Yolanthe acted in the Turkish blockbuster "Police Academy Alaturka" and then played the fierce Sacha Sano in "Popoz." Between 2017 and 2018, she filmed "Reunited," "Temptation Island," and "Jongens tegen de meisjes." In 2018, she performed a sketch as Morticia Addams in "TV Kantine" and played Bobbie in the theater production "The Christmas Show: A Christmas Carol." She was also filming the detective series "DNA," playing the lead role of tough detective Lara Noord; the series was set to air in January 2019.
Beyond her screen work, Yolanthe founded the organization "Free A Girl" in 2008. The foundation aims to prevent child abuse, rescue abused children worldwide, help them recover from their experiences, and provide them with a secure future (more information at freeagirl).
Readers of the Dutch men's magazine FHM voted Yolanthe the sexiest Dutch woman three consecutive years. She also received BNN's award for best actress.
Yolanthe is the creator of her clothing and jewelry brand, YC LABEL. She also owns a restaurant and boutique on Ibiza called XaXa.
