Biografia
Hercules Bellville, born in San Diego, California, has spent over 40 years working in the film industry across Europe and the United States. He began his career as an Assistant Director on Roman Polanski's Repulsion (1965), marking the start of a long collaboration with the director. Their partnership continued on projects such as Cul-de-Sac (1966), Macbeth (1971), What? (1972), The Tenant (1976), Tess (1979), and Pirates (1986).
Later, Bellville served as Director of Creative Affairs at Hal Ashby's Northstar company for several years, contributing to films like Being There (1981), featuring Peter Sellers, and Bob Rafelson's The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), starring Jack Nicholson. In 1983, he co-produced Stranger's Kiss, which starred Peter Coyote and Victoria Tennant.
Since 1984, Bellville has overseen Creative Affairs at Recorded Picture Company, where he is also a director. His involvement includes productions such as Bernardo Bertolucci's The Last Emperor (1987) and The Sheltering Sky (1990), David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch (1991) and Crash (1996), and co-producing Bob Rafelson's Blood and Wine (1996), starring Jack Nicholson, Michael Caine, and Jennifer Lopez. Additionally, he was Associate Producer on Jeremy Thomas' All The Little Animals (1997), starring John Hurt; Jonathan Glazer's Sexy Beast (2000), starring Sir Ben Kingsley; and Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers (2003).
