Born under a fortunate star, Jon Welch was destined to become an actor. Coming from a family of stage performers, Jon has been professionally active in Film, Television, Industrials, and Voice-Overs since 2002. He discovered his passion for acting at the age of 10, quickly realizing it was his true calling. His first significant role was as the hunter in the play Little Red Riding Hood in Sudbury, Ontario, where he captivated a 300-person audience with his intense portrayal of a relentless wolf killer wielding a large Super Soaker water gun. This early experience ignited his lifelong dream.
After studying in Los Angeles, Jon had a pivotal moment in 2001 while making a class film, which solidified his commitment to acting. His career now encompasses a wide range of genres, including Action, Comedy, Martial Arts, Drama, and Horror. He enjoys exploring diverse roles and has starred as the lead in several films such as Jamie & Eddie: Souls of Strife (Best Action Sequence 2009 AOFF), Enemy Combatant (Golden Cedar Award), and Almost a Turkish Soap Opera (multiple awards), where he portrayed Adel, a Turkish man seeking a new life in North America. A physically dynamic and versatile actor, Jon can convincingly portray various ethnicities and accents. His dedication to the craft drives him to thoroughly research each role to fully embody his characters. Fluent in both English and French, Jon’s heritage includes Québécois, French, Scottish, English, Métis, Huron (Wendat), Mohawk, and Belgian roots. He divides his time between Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa.
