Biografia
Jack Bank is an acclaimed actor, writer, and filmmaker. Born in New York City, he showed an early passion for the arts, especially music. Playing multiple instruments from a young age, Jack began composing songs during his teenage years.
Although always a musician, a near-fatal accident temporarily halted Jack’s creative pursuits. After a lengthy recovery, a close friend encouraged him to rediscover his artistic passion by exploring acting. Reflecting on this advice, Jack enrolled at Michael Howard Studios in New York and has pursued acting ever since.
For several years, Jack refined his skills on New York theater stages. A natural performer, he captivated audiences as Barry in 'Sleeping Beauty... or Coma' and earned praise for his role in the New York City Fringe Festival production 'The Working Week or Sunday Rest.'
Jack’s first significant on-screen role was as Guy in the award-winning ABC daytime drama 'One Life to Live.' Since then, he has appeared in numerous films alongside notable actors including Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), Steven Bauer (Ray Donovan), Andre Royo (Empire), Carmen Electra (Scary Movie), celebrated comedienne Sandra Bernhard, and Oscar-nominated Eric Roberts.
His early film experiences sparked Jack’s interest in filmmaking. He went on to write, direct, and star in a trilogy of short comedies for the festival circuit. His debut, 'All Bookies Wear Speedos,' earned multiple film festival awards and featured legendary talk show and radio host Joe Franklin, known for appearances in the original 'Ghostbusters' and Woody Allen’s 'Broadway Danny Rose.'
Building on his success behind the camera, Jack acted and directed in films such as 'Gangster’s Crib,' which won Best Short Comedy at The Indie Gathering International Film Festival, and 'Interpersonal Exopolitics,' collaborating with Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Fred Melamed (A Serious Man), and Jessica Morris, whom he met on the set of 'One Life to Live.'
During this period, Jack expanded his talents to stand-up comedy, studying under renowned coach Stephen Rosenfield. He has performed at prominent comedy venues including Caroline’s, Gotham Comedy Club, and Stand-Up New York.
Now based in Los Angeles while maintaining ties to New York, Jack is set to appear in several upcoming film projects. He currently has two feature films in development: the thriller 'Yin Gateway' and the comedy 'True Blue Balls.
