Discovered in Canada in 2002 by Marcia Shulman, then head of casting for Fox Television, Josh was encouraged to move to Los Angeles after she saw him perform in an improv show. Two years later, he relocated and quickly landed the lead role in Fox's improvised sitcom Free Ride, which aired six episodes in 2005 and premiered to an audience of over 15 million. Following this, Fox signed him to a development deal, leading to work on various pilots, movies, and series, including a recent three-episode stint on Quantum Leap.
In 2013, Bioware, a video game developer with whom Josh had collaborated as a voice actor and motion capture artist, invited him to voice direct the player characters for their upcoming game Dragon Age: Inquisition. A passionate gamer, Josh embraced the opportunity and has since significantly expanded this aspect of his career. He has directed projects for major gaming companies such as Sony, Sega, Nintendo, and EA, including titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2, Need for Speed, Like a Dragon, Final Fantasy, and the Emmy-winning animated series Arcane.
