Born and raised in Los Angeles, Prakash Amritraj is a former professional tennis player on the ATP World Tour. He reached two ATP World Tour finals and secured singles victories over former world number one and Australian Open/US Open champion Marat Safin, as well as ATP Finals champion Grigor Dimitrov. Representing India as their top singles player in the prestigious Davis Cup, he also competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments. Before turning professional, Prakash led USC as a freshman to an NCAA title, earning MVP honors in the finals.
Recognized as one of the premier sports presenters globally for tennis, Prakash has covered Wimbledon for BeIN Sports in the Middle East and Star Sports in India. He is now a leading face on Tennis Channel, the world’s largest tennis network, reaching 70 million homes in the USA. Known for his humor, quick wit, and close rapport with players, he has produced and starred in two multi-season series for the network: "Prakash Worldwide" and "No Limit: NYC, a Prakash Worldwide Series." Over the past four years, he has conducted more one-on-one interviews with top players than anyone else in tennis. In 2022 alone, his analyst and interview coverage garnered over 10 million unique viewer impressions. He is also the first and only American of Indian descent to headline coverage for a major sporting event in the US.
In the fitness world, Prakash has been a contributor to GQ India for two and a half years, with the magazine featuring his "What's Your Code" philosophy in a double-page spread in each issue. During this time, GQ India rose to become the second most successful GQ edition globally, second only to the US.
Prakash also excels as a host and master of ceremonies. He served as the MC for the high-profile Taste of Tennis event in 2022 and will return in 2023. At the 2022 event, he hosted a fireside chat with Venus and Serena Williams and Michelin-starred chef Emma Bengtsson, followed by a 1,000-person event featuring a cooking competition with Michelin-star chefs alongside Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios. While this event was for Citi, Prakash’s corporate speaking engagements extend to Fairfax Capital and numerous other organizations across various sectors.
A gifted inspirational speaker, Prakash was invited by the prestigious Laver Cup to Vancouver to address aspiring ball boys as part of a community outreach initiative. He has also spoken at universities, including USC, sharing his positive message to inspire the next generation to reach their fullest potential.
As an actor and producer, Prakash began his acting career opening NBC's renowned comedy showcase and later appeared alongside Jamie Dornan, Ben Mendelsohn, and Billy Crystal in "Untogether," which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. He is slated to star in an international espionage film franchise set in the sports world, along with several other high-profile projects. Prakash is president of Sterling Road Films, a production and finance company focused on aspirational, globally appealing storytelling.
In the business realm of sports, Prakash is a co-owner of the professional pickleball franchise Miami Pickleball Club, alongside co-owners Patrick Mahomes, Kygo, Nick Kyrgios, Naomi Osaka, and Rich Paul.
