Biografia
Monique Carmona is a playwright, author, actress, screenwriter, and director who draws from each discipline to enrich every project she undertakes. With a Puerto Rican father, a British mother, and a diverse cultural background, Monique is dedicated to telling complex, engaging, and entertaining stories that consistently emphasize the vital female perspective.
She had the privilege of being mentored by acclaimed TV writer and creator David Milch during his work on Deadwood and John From Cincinnati. Part mentor, part visionary, Milch inspired a storytelling approach focused on faith and consistency, unlocking deeper character exploration—a method Monique continues to embrace.
Following this, Monique directed sessions, cast, and produced at Soundchef Studios, collaborating with clients such as Netflix, The United Nations, Universal, Spike TV, Nickelodeon, Google, and numerous award-winning directors in both narrative and animation. She also wrote, directed, and produced the Telly Award-winning web series Front Seat Chronicles, which tackled topics ranging from sex trafficking to fertility challenges and social injustice. Additionally, she authored Women on the Edge, wrote and produced four stage plays, and several award-winning short films.
Monique currently has two television shows and a feature film in development.
