Biografia
Phil earned a photography degree from Syracuse University and relocated to New York City with just $800 and no job. Despite limited funds, he demonstrated determination, working as a freelance photo assistant before launching his own career. As an acclaimed photographer, Phil specialized in capturing music, celebrity, and fashion images, collaborating with artists such as Green Day, The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Christina Aguilera, Ludacris, Jay-Z, The Roots, Trent Reznor, My Chemical Romance, The Killers, and Fall Out Boy.
In 2005, Phil directed his first music video and created his debut short film, "The Listening Dead," which he wrote, directed, edited, and financed independently. Completed in 2006, "The Listening Dead" received awards at numerous international film festivals. It was named "Best Horror Short of 2007" by Rue Morgue magazine and continues to be showcased at festivals and special screenings worldwide.
Phil's second short film, "Far Out," premiered at the CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival in Toronto in 2007, where The Sundance Channel immediately acquired it. At its second festival appearance, "Far Out" earned the Bronze Medal for Horror Shorts at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas—the same festival that awarded "The Listening Dead" with a Best of Show honor the previous year.
In 2008, Phil relocated to Los Angeles to concentrate on directing. While developing feature-length projects, he continues to write and direct music videos, including Korn's "Oildale" and Opeth's "The Devil's Orchard," the latter recognized as one of the Best Music Videos of 2011 by Revolver Magazine, Guitar World Magazine, AOL's Noisecreep, and numerous online music blogs.
