Biografia
Connor Baxter Skific was born in Van Nuys, CA, to Darko Skific, a car salesman, and Karen Baxter, who was purchasing a car at the time. His mother has Norwegian and Scottish roots, while his father immigrated from Croatia to the United States at age 24. Connor experienced a unique childhood in the small town of Malibu, where encountering celebrities regularly taught him they were just ordinary people. He also enjoyed the privilege of visiting his large Croatian family every summer.
As a young adult, Connor considered many career paths, including architect, archaeologist, physicist, computer scientist, marine (like his grandfather), boxer, warrior, firefighter, and writer. It wasn’t until he was 24 that he realized only one profession could encompass all these interests: acting.
During his teenage years, Connor found refuge in fantasy through novels, films, and video games, often feeling out of place in his own time. Inspired by the film Gladiator, he admired the character Maximus (played by Russell Crowe) as an ideal man. Similarly, the character Richard Rahl from Terry Goodkind’s The Sword of Truth series embodied courage, kindness, and self-sacrifice—qualities Connor aspires to embody.
Connor struggled with confidence growing up, but discovered self-belief through powerlifting at age 22. This sport taught him that steady, consistent effort leads to remarkable progress. Starting with a deadlift of 95 lbs, he increased his lift to 502 lbs in competition over three years—a feat few can match. This principle of persistence applies to all areas of life: talent isn’t innate, and with dedication, anyone can reach the top.
To conquer the world, you must take the first step and trust in yourself.
