Biografia
Alex Denney is a multi-talented actor, improviser, musician, voiceover artist, writer, podcast host, and radio DJ based in Santa Monica, CA.
His acting credits include TV appearances on Hulu's "Pam & Tommy," ABC's "The Rookie," and CBS's "NCIS: Hawaii." On stage, he has performed in The Actors Co-op's Ovation Award-winning musical "110 in the Shade," LA Opera's "Bluebeard's Castle," and originated the role of Brad in Josefina Lopez's "A Cat Named Mercy" ("Real Women Have Curves").
Alex earned a degree in Film and Theater from BYU-Hawaii and further honed his craft with scene study under Guy Camilleri at RAW Acting Studio in Los Angeles.
He graduated from The Second City Hollywood Conservatory in Short Form Improv and Sketch and trained in Long Form Improv at Westside Comedy Theater. Alex hosts the improvised talking animal podcast "Island Life with Alex Denney," which has over 50 episodes available at www.islandlifepod.com.
Certified in Radio Communications by the Chesapeake Center for Science and Technology, Alex has worked professionally as a DJ in Norfolk, VA, and Los Angeles at 100.3 The Sound KSWD. His voiceover work includes projects for NPR One, Toyota, Southwest Airlines, as well as scripted productions like The Loyalists and Monster Smash League.
He began singing live solo at age seven and continued performing in choirs through college, studying under Michael Belnap in the BYU-H Concert Choir. Since age 13, Alex has sung and played bass guitar in rock bands. His ukulele covers on YouTube, especially "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons and selections from "Hamilton: An American Musical," have garnered hundreds of thousands of views.
Alex enjoys swimming, slacklining, ring-flying at Santa Monica Beach Park, video gaming, cooking, yoga, and meditation.
Originally from New Brunswick, New Jersey, and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia, Alex has also lived in Montana, Utah, and Hawaii. His family currently resides in Minot, North Dakota.
