Biografia
Stephanie Garvin is an American director, producer, writer, and actor based in Los Angeles, California. After a career in finance and entrepreneurship, she has fulfilled her childhood dream of writing and creating films.
While studying film at UCLA, UCB, and the Margie Haber School, Stephanie took on various supporting acting roles, gaining valuable insights into directing and production. She later founded ETM Pictures Inc. and ETM Distribution LLC to collaborate with independent filmmakers and industry professionals. Despite numerous challenges, she wrote, executive produced, and directed the feature film Holiday Twist, scheduled for national theatrical release on December 1, 2023. From the beginning, Stephanie managed both creative and business aspects of the project, determined to keep it independent and maintain control over creative and distribution rights. Building on Holiday Twist’s initial success, a sequel is planned for release in 2024.
Before Holiday Twist, Stephanie was co-executive producer of the award-winning feature film The Trial of the Chicago 7, directed by Aaron Sorkin and secured by Netflix. She also co-produced the documentary Mr. Nelson on the North Side, which examined the early life of Prince until his untimely passing at the peak of his career.
When her children were young, "Family Date Night" rituals of dinner and a movie fostered family bonding and helped Stephanie balance work and life. Although her children found it corny at the time, they now cherish those moments as some of their favorite memories. After becoming an empty nester, Stephanie’s passion for creating meaningful, family-friendly films motivated her to turn her childhood dream into reality.
Committed to giving back, Stephanie has served as a board member of the Burbank Film Festival for several years.
