Biografia
Oscar Navarro, winner of the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (Los Angeles, USA) and nominee for the Goya Spanish Academy Awards in 2014, has earned numerous accolades including the 10th Cinematography Music Critics Awards, Mundo BSO Awards, XIII Goldspirit Awards, Global Music Awards, and Accolade Music Awards. He studied composition and conducting at the Allegro International Music Academy in Valencia under his mentor Ferrer Ferrán. Later, he was selected by the prestigious University of Southern California Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles, USA) to study Scoring for Motion Picture and TV, recording his music in renowned Los Angeles studios such as Capitol Records, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Bros., as well as European studios like the Kiev Radio Symphony Orchestra, Macedonia Symphony Orchestra, and Cordoba Symphony Orchestra (Spain). Upon completing his studies, he received the Harry Warren Endowed Scholarship for Scoring for Motion Pictures and TV, awarded to the top graduating student.
In the film industry, Navarro has composed music for feature films, shorts, and documentaries. Notably, he scored the feature film La Mula (The Mule), earning a Best Original Score nomination at the 2014 Goya Awards. He also composed the soundtrack for the documentary Sueños de Sal (Dreams of Salt), which won the 2016 Goya for Best Documentary and the Musical Critics Awards Spanish Film for Best Score of the year.
Navarro frequently collaborates on short films, including Project K9, nominated for Best Soundtrack at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, and the short film Acting 101 by director Rene Rhi, for which he received a Best Soundtrack nomination at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival.
Oscar Navarro has received numerous national and international composition awards for both concert and film music, with his works performed worldwide by leading orchestral and wind ensembles.
