Mike, an LA-based screenwriter originally from Canada, crafts darkly humorous commentary on masculinity, failure, and connection, often merging surreal comedy with genre elements to delve into complex emotional truths. Holding a BFA in Theatre and Performance, Mike collaborated with many of Canada's leading theatre companies, taking on multiple roles such as actor, sound designer, producer, and writer, frequently all at once. After writing and performing with various emerging sketch groups and indie favorites, he co-founded Theatre Melee, gaining a cult following in Vancouver for their boldly absurd explorations of death, the afterlife, and apocalypse themes. When his successful Fringe show Toothpaste and Cigars, co-written with TJ Dawe, was adapted into the 2013 feature film The F-Word (released as What If in the US) starring Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan, and Adam Driver, Mike shifted his focus to screenwriting. He attended Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre as a writer-in-residence in the esteemed Primetime TV Program. Since then, Mike has created, written, and developed television and film projects with Seven24 Films, Peacock Alley, and Neshama Entertainment, including two thrillers currently streaming on TUBI (USA) and Crave (Canada). He is a proud father of two remarkable young men and a devoted husband to the witty and talented Juno Rinaldi.
