Shannon Amos is a producer, storyteller, transformational guide, and founder of Zuri Retreats, a luxury travel company that curates transformative experiences worldwide. Her work centers on the convergence of storytelling, emotional wellness, ancestral memory, and cultural connection.
As the daughter of renowned actor John Amos, Shannon launched her career working with director Spike Lee on Mo' Better Blues before becoming Assistant Producer on MTV's influential Yo! MTV Raps. She later held the role of Assistant Producer on America's Most Wanted, created original content for BET's Pay-Per-View division—including a behind-the-scenes series on the legendary Up in Smoke Tour—produced numerous music videos during hip-hop’s golden era for artists like Tupac Shakur and Mack 10, produced independent films distributed by Maverick Entertainment, and contributed to theatrical marketing campaigns for Warner Bros. titles such as Million Dollar Baby, The Lake House, and I Am Legend.
After losing her mother in 2017, Shannon embarked on a solo sabbatical through Southeast Asia, documenting her healing journey and inspiring a growing online community focused on reinvention, mindfulness, and intentional living.
Currently, she leads immersive retreats, facilitates transformative experiences, and speaks on themes of healing, resilience, and the power of self-remembrance.
Shannon holds certifications as a Trauma-Informed Coach, Mindfulness Teacher, a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Reiki Master, and has completed Yale University's The Science of Well-Being program. Whether producing films or guiding transformational journeys, she believes the most impactful stories do more than entertain—they transform.
