Biografia
Justin Kreutzmann was born into a world rich with art, music, and the vibrant, often unconventional culture of Rock 'n' Roll. At eight years old in 1978, his father gave him a Super-8 camera, setting him on a lifelong creative journey. Backstage at Dead concerts became his stage, with band members, crew, family, and fans serving as his cast.
Justin has collaborated on numerous high-profile projects with music icons including U2, Mötley Crüe, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison, Perry Farrell, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Don Was, John Doe, Lou Reed, John Mayer, Emmylou Harris, Mavis Staples, Dr. John, the Grateful Dead, Mike Campbell, Stone Temple Pilots, Pete Townshend, and The Who.
He served as executive producer on the feature film The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir, and as producer alongside Martin Scorsese on the Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip. His film Break On Thru: A Celebration Of Ray Manzarek And The Doors won Best Feature Film at the 2018 Asbury Park Music and Film Festival.
In 2022, LET THERE BE DRUMS! was released—a feature documentary Justin directed, produced, co-edited, and co-wrote. He is currently working on the official feature documentary about Jerry Garcia.
