Laurie Kinzer (Ramos) began her career in show business at age 6, appearing in commercials, sitcoms, films, and modeling. She discovered a deep passion for the entertainment industry early on. While studying film at UCLA, she supported herself by writing, directing, and producing automotive commercials and training videos, traveling nationwide for an advertising company. At UCLA, Laurie produced her first film, Rancheria, which won awards at Native film festivals. Discovering her love for storytelling through film, she dedicated her life to exploring the conflicts faced by modern Native Americans and indigenous social issues through media, culminating in the feature film California Indian, available worldwide via Vanguard Cinemas' digital distribution. Laurie is currently collaborating on numerous film and TV projects, serving in various roles.
As co-owner of Against the Wind Films, LLC and Against the Wind Productions, which primarily focuses on documentaries, PSAs, and cultural projects, Laurie also wears many other hats. She holds an MA in Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT) and an M.A. Ed, Educational Specialist. Laurie owns and operates Laurien Intl., an advertising and marketing consulting firm serving clients globally. Her image helped launch the cutting-edge, multi-million-dollar Online Bridal Shows website and the first Online Fashion Show featuring a futuristic 3D virtual world audience in 2005. She is a child advocate, counselor, life coach, MFT intern, and contracted resource specialist. Laurie also manages her son’s and daughter’s acting careers alongside her own. Additionally, she is a professional motivational speaker, presenting on topics in psychology, education, internet marketing, film, and documentaries when her schedule permits.
