Joe Casey is a writer, producer, and content creator with a career spanning over twenty years in comic books, television, and feature films. He has had extensive runs on titles such as Superman, the X-Men, the Avengers, Iron Man, GI Joe, and many others. Casey is the creator of Marvel's America Chavez, featured in Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. He is also recognized for his Eisner Award-nominated cosmic superhero saga, Gødland. His acclaimed work on series like Wildcats and Automatic Kafka earned spots on multiple "best of the decade" lists. His genre-defying cult favorites Officer Downe and Butcher Baker the Righteous Maker secured him a place on MTV.com's list of the 10 best writers of 2011. Comics Alliance called him "the most dangerous man in comics." The feature film Officer Downe, based on his original graphic novel and for which he served as creator, screenwriter, and producer, was released in 2015.
Casey is a founding partner of Man of Action Entertainment, a writers' collective responsible for some of pop culture's biggest franchise characters and original creations published under their MOA imprint at Image Comics. Their notable creations include Ben 10, a $6 billion boys’ action franchise, and Generator Rex, both for Cartoon Network. MOA also developed Disney XD’s Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel's Avengers Assemble as executive producers and writers. They created the characters and team Big Hero 6, featured in Disney/Marvel’s Academy Award®-winning film—the first comic book IP to win Best Animated Feature. Beyond comics, MOA has created successful video games, toy lines, and serves as creator, producer, and writer for current and upcoming feature films and live-action TV series based on their original comic books and graphic novels.
