Biografia
Shyaporn Theerakulstit is a Thai-American actor, writer, and director from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, now based in New York City. He is recognized for his roles in The Flight Attendant, Girls5Eva, and the Focus Features film Song Sung Blue alongside Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. Additionally, he is a content creator, cosplayer, and lecturer on "fake science."
He hosts the Nerd Nite and REAL/fake Science lecture series, as well as the karaoke storytelling event Story-oke. His presentations cover topics such as Godzilla biology, becoming Batman, and the technology comparisons between Star Trek and Star Wars. He has spoken at venues including the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., TEDx, Caveat NYC, C2E2, and the New York Fringe Festival, and regularly performs in the slideshow improv show Peer Revue.
With over 5 million views, his YouTube channel has been highlighted by Comedy Central and Huffington Post. Shyaporn has moderated panels at New York Comic Con, Book Expo, and Anime NYC. At the 2013 New York Comic Con Cosplay Contest, he earned "Best in Show" and "Crowd Favorite" for his portrayal of Khan Noonien Singh. He also portrayed the superhero King Tiger in video series for Dark Horse Comics.
He graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, studying at the Stella Adler Conservatory and Classical Studio, and holds a traditional Shaolin kung fu degree from Alan Lee's Chinese Kung Fu Wu Su Association, one of New York City's oldest martial arts schools.
