Thomas J. Churchill, aka "Church" as people call him, is an American Writer, Director and Producer who founded Church Hill Productions, an American Independent film company that is based on the Sunset Las Palmas Studio Lot in Hollywood, USA. Their mission (Churchill and his producing partner, Aleksandra Zorich Hunt) the focus is on films and television within the genres that have strong commercial appeal such as Horror, Action, Family and Christmas. Church Hill Productions also produces a popular YouTube channel- Church's Hollywood Moments as well. The channel, short of 3 years...has quickly grown their subscribers.
Recently, we have written, directed and produced over 18 titles, various genres for various companies. Our titles have been distributed worldwide through Redbox, Lionsgate, Starz, Peacock, Amazon Prime, Walmart, Paramount+, BET-Plus, Tubi, Pluto TV, Plex, Hulu and Netflix amongst various international companies just to name a few.
This dynamic is also evident in the work of Church Hill Productions’ founding partner, Thomas J. Churchill, whose Big Freaking Rat, a creature feature horror-comedy was a massive success in Eastern Europe. Even his Amityville films- The Amityville Trilogy - includes The Amityville Harvest, The Amityville Moon, and Amityville Uprising, these films, had returned to the Peacock Network, three years in a row, streaming alongside studio blockbusters films during the Halloween season. This demonstrates how classic horror mythology can be reinterpreted and expanded for contemporary audiences. Churchill continues this tradition with the development of a new horror property, The 3 Killer Pigs. Planned for release in the Fall 2026, with the intention of building a scalable horror franchise around the concept.
Churchill, who was born in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, and raised in Queens, New York. Italian, Irish and English descent. His mother being Italian with family from Italy, and his father Irish/English-both New York born.
Churchill, born into a family of six, the youngest of four children. His first award came early, as he received a "Doctor of Storytelling" from a daycare center pre-kindergarten when he was five years of age.
The dream of acting and entertaining was always in his heart at a very early age. The television show, Kolchack: The Night Stalker was his earliest television inspiration.
At Age 7 Churchill, was in the top 5 for the remake of film The Champ. Although the part went to actor Rick Schroder, this did not discourage Churchill. The same year he meets film and sports icon - Fred "The Hammer" Williamson who he will later direct years later in Check Point and the upcoming planned action film, The Avenging Angel.
King Kong (1976), Star Wars (1977) and then Superman (1978) are credited as the three films that started the "Hollywood" dream. But, it was not until some years later, with Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and Batman (1989) that lit the fuse.
When Churchill was a sophomore at Franklin K. Lane High School, that was when he convinced his father to buy him a video camera (a full sized VHS) so he could make his vision come to life as an actor in the film, The War Master. A film about two teenage cops fighting the drug problem in their neighborhood. It went on to win several local awards as Churchill was published in several newspapers regarding his film. The New York Daily News, New York Newsday, The Ridgewood Times and The Queens Tribune to list some. This is the film that would forever change his life, a film he wrote, produced and directed. A film that would change his passion from actor ...to storyteller.
Today, Churchill is living his dream in Hollywood, with numerous awards, writer, director, producer acting credits under his belt, his films have been picked up by Streamers, Networks and Studios.
