Brandon Scales, an American actor, is recognized for his roles in Patriot's Day (2016), Mile 22 (2018), and Fire (2017).
Born Brandon Scott Scales to Valerie Scales in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Brandon faced numerous challenges and hardships during his early years. By 1986, he, his brothers, and his mother had moved to a tough project community in Springfield, Illinois, where many of his life lessons began. Exposed to a dangerous environment by age four, he was placed in the foster care system at seven, separating him from his brothers. After more than a year in foster care, he and his brothers reunited with their mother, who relocated them back to Arkansas in 1990, then to Killeen, Texas, in 1991. His passion for the stage ignited in a fourth-grade Christmas play, where he played a camel. From there, he auditioned for numerous school plays and eventually joined the school drama club.
In 1993, Brandon and his brothers were again separated and placed in foster care. In late 1994, they went to live with their grandfather, James A. Scales, a strict, God-fearing former drill sergeant in Brockton, Massachusetts, who dedicated himself to teaching his grandsons discipline and manhood. Life with his grandfather was challenging but essential. It was during this time that Brandon learned core values that would drive his success as an actor.
Brandon is military trained and competed as an amateur boxer at the Petronelli Gym in Brockton, Massachusetts.
