In 2004, with a budget of $380,000, he wrote and directed the film "7 mujeres, 1 homosexual y Carlos," shot entirely in Tijuana on 35mm film. The cast featured Mauricio Ochmman, Adriana Fonseca, Luis Felipe Tovar, and Rogelio Guerra, among others. This romantic comedy was distributed in Mexico by 20th Century Fox with 125 copies and became the fourth highest-grossing Mexican film of the year. In 2009, his new feature, "Recién Cazado," a romantic comedy released by Warner Bros. Pictures, quickly became a favorite with audiences, attracting nearly one million viewers in Mexican theaters and earning almost 40 million pesos. It ranked second at the Mexican box office and was the number one DVD rental nationwide in 2010, starring an A-list cast including Jaime Camil, Gabriela Vergara, Otto Sirgo, and Angélica Aragón. His short film "Cara a Cara" was an official selection at the Morelia International Film Festival, Mexico’s most prestigious film festival. In 2016, he wrote, directed, and produced the Mexican comedy "Lo más sencillo es complicarlo todo," which performed strongly at the Mexican box office and was licensed worldwide by Netflix. He is currently finishing post-production on the drama "Tijuana I Love You" and will direct his first English-language feature, "Feddy's Fabulous Food," this year. Other projects in development include "Juana de Asbaje," "Honeymoon in Tijuana," and "To Hear From You," among others.
