Biografia
Andy Park began his professional journey as a comic book artist at Extreme Studios, a branch of Image Comics. He created both interior and cover art for several series, most notably "Avengelyne" and Glory/Angela: Angels in Hell. Park paused his comic book career to study Illustration at the Art Center College of Design. In 1999, he returned to comics to illustrate the new "Tomb Raider" series written by Dan Jurgens and published by Top Cow Productions, earning recognition as one of the top 10 artists in the industry by Wizard Magazine. Tomb Raider #1 became the best-selling comic book of 1999. After completing issue #20, Andy began working with Marvel Comics as a cover and interior artist on titles such as Excalibur, "Weapon X", "New X-Men", Mutopia X, and "Uncanny X-Men".
Beyond comics, Andy has contributed interior and cover illustrations to numerous magazines including Maxim, Flex, PSM, Wizard, "Muscle & Fitness", "2D Artist Magazine", "Advanced Photoshop", "Imagine FX", "Game Informer", among others. He has also created covers for various other comic publishers including DC Comics, working on titles like Superman Confidential, WildCats, The Authority, and God of War.
In 2005, Andy joined SCE Santa Monica Studio, a division of Sony Computer Entertainment, as a concept artist. He designed characters, creatures, props, and environments for acclaimed video games such as God of War II, God of War: Chains of Olympus, StarHawk, and God of War III. As one of Sony's lead concept artists, he designed many main characters, bosses, and environments, including Poseidon, Poseidon Leviathan, Hermes, Chimera, Satyr, Centaur, Skorpius, Fear Zeus, Minotaur, Athena’s astral form, Olympus Sentries, Olympus Archer, Olympus Legionnaire, Olympus Guardian, Hera, Persephone, Talos, Blade of Olympus, Hades Palace Arena, Mt. Olympus interiors, and the Hades Wall Run environment. His artwork was prominently featured throughout Sony’s marketing campaign for the highly anticipated PlayStation 3 release of God of War III. He illustrated covers for magazines such as "Game Informer" and "PlayStation Official Magazine" to promote the game. GameStop offered a 17x24 poster of Kratos signed by Andy Park as a pre-order bonus. He also created the cover art for the European release of the God of War Trilogy, coinciding with the third game’s launch. Andy appeared in several print and video interviews to support the game's promotion.
In 2010, Andy joined Marvel Studios' Visual Development team to help shape the aesthetic of its films by designing characters, costumes, and key frames for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He notably worked on The Avengers, which set numerous box office records and became the third highest-grossing film of all time. His contributions also include "Captain America: The First Avenger", "Thor", "Iron Man 3", "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", "Thor: The Dark World", and "Guardians of the Galaxy". His artwork is prominently featured in "The Art of Marvel’s The Avengers."
