Born in Roswell, New Mexico, Merritt's first experience with performing, beyond the plays and stories she created for her family, occurred at age seven. The film 'Silent Tongue,' directed by Sam Shepard, was shooting in the desert near her hometown. At her mother's request—her first role as an on-set tutor—Merritt auditioned for Sam Shepard as a featured, recurring background actor. "I wanted to provide Merritt with an outlet for her strong inclination toward performance, which she showed from practically birth," her mother recalls with a smile. "I knew this was a unique opportunity for her, especially in a small town like Roswell." From this experience, Glover realized that performing could be her lifelong passion and career. After 'Silent Tongue' finished filming, Merritt pleaded with her parents to move to Los Angeles, but they felt it wasn't the right time for the family. From then on, Merritt eagerly participated in any acting opportunity she could find, pursuing classes, community theatre, high school productions, independent films, and eventually earning a college degree in Performing Arts. Graduating magna cum laude, she moved to Portland, Oregon, to explore a different acting market. There, she achieved many successes in community and professional theatre, including one of her favorite roles: The Wicked Witch of the West. After three years away from home, Merritt was drawn back to New Mexico by a single thought: "The pilot of 'Breaking Bad'... I was watching it in Portland and thinking, what the heck are you doing, Merritt?! This is huge, and it's happening right in your backyard! I knew I had to return to New Mexico and try to be part of this incredible show. They were revolutionizing television, and I had just moved away." Shortly after watching the pilot, Glover relocated to Albuquerque to pursue a film career alongside theatre. Two years later, she landed her first SAG-speaking role as Sheila on the popular series 'In Plain Sight.' This was followed by a role on the acclaimed show 'Longmire.' After about twenty auditions for 'Breaking Bad' and serving as stand-in for Skylar (played by Anna Gunn) for two years, Merritt finally received the call: she had secured a role on the series that had inspired her return to New Mexico. Now, with over 38 theatrical credits and more than 37 film and television credits, Merritt continues her career, saying, "I'll keep going until I'm too old and crazy to get hired.
