Patrick Huard is a multifaceted artist—actor, comedian, filmmaker, author, emcee, director, and producer. Marking over 20 years in the industry and recently celebrating his 40th birthday, he boasts an impressive array of accomplishments. He has starred in 15 feature films, including La Vie après l'Amour, Nez Rouge, Sur le Seuil, Maman Last Call, Monica la Mitraille, Cadavres, Bon Cop Bad Cop (which he co-wrote and which ranks among Canada's highest-grossing films), Funkytown, Starbuck (the most popular Quebec film of 2011, distributed in over 20 countries), and Omertà, directed and written by Luc Dionne. This film revisits the cult TV series 11 years after its third season ended. Patrick was thrilled to collaborate with talents like Michel Côté, Rachelle Lefevre, Stéphane Rousseau, and René Angelil on this project.
Patrick Huard has a passion for live performance. In March 2012, he made a much-anticipated return to the stage with his third solo show, Le Bonheur, nearly 12 years after his previous one-man effort. He is currently touring the province with this production. Earlier, he presented two highly successful comedy shows, 18 ans et plus and Face à Face. Additionally, he performed in several Juste pour rire galas and took part in Eric Bogosian’s play Talk Radio, delivering approximately 1,200 performances and selling hundreds of thousands of tickets throughout Quebec.
On television, Patrick has portrayed a wide range of characters—from everyman roles and villains to a drag queen—in series such as Music Hall, Cover Girl, Fortier, Au Nom de la Loi, and Taxi 0-22, where he spent four seasons playing Rogatien, the iconic irascible taxi driver. For this role, he received the Artis trophy in 2008 and 2009 for Best Actor in a Comedy Program. The public also honored him twice with the Male Personality of the Year award, in 2009 and 2010. Following his stage comeback in 2012, Patrick joined TVA’s popular show Star Académie. After impressing audiences in the 2009 season with his exceptional ability to share knowledge, he was delighted to return as a performance coach on the series.
Patrick Huard has also hosted numerous Juste pour rire galas, the Gala de l'ADISQ, the Soirée des Jutra, a comedy series on Radio-Canada, as well as several daily radio programs.
Increasingly active behind the camera, Patrick produced and directed Taxi 0-22 (which ran for four seasons on TVA), alongside videos, commercials, a documentary for Canal D, his debut feature film Les 3 P'tits Cochons (The Three Little Pigs), Quebec’s highest-grossing film in 2007, and Filière 13.
In partnership with Vidéotron and Sid Lee, Patrick has leveraged his creativity and versatility for the mobile channel Lib tv, celebrating its first anniversary this summer. He serves as its ambassador, program director, and co-producer (through his company Jessie Films), while also contributing as designer, producer, and actor. Lib tv is a premier platform for local talent, pushing creative boundaries and experimenting with new concepts. Since launching in June 2011, the channel’s unique programming has amassed nearly one million views across illico mobile, illico web, and illico TV.
