John Wesley Prudhont was born in East Los Angeles, California, and raised in the Echo Park and Glassell Park neighborhoods. His acting journey began at age nine when he started taking classes at the Glendale Center Theater in Glendale, California. During his training, he appeared in productions such as "A Christmas Carol," "A Majority of One," "Fiddler on the Roof," and "Oklahoma." In 1982, he landed his first professional on-camera role as the Letterman in the music video for Kiss’s "I Love It Loud." His debut on network television came in 1985 with a guest-starring role in the third episode of the popular TV series "MacGyver." Since then, he has performed in over 100 live and recorded roles across TV, film, commercials, voice-over work, industrial videos, theater, hosting, as well as print and runway modeling.
He completed the two-year conservatory actor training program at the LACC Theatre Academy in Los Angeles. In 1991, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with an emphasis on Military History from California State University, Sacramento. He later obtained an MBA in Finance from Louisiana State University in 2022 and a Doctor of Business Administration in Financial Management from Northcentral University in La Jolla, California, in 2025.
Fluent in English, French, and Spanish, he has performed roles in all three languages.
In addition to his entertainment career, he has worked in the financial services sector as a mergers and acquisitions business broker and real estate broker in California and Nevada. He has been a principal at The Business Brokers, LLC in Las Vegas and The Business Brokers, Inc. in Newport Beach since the early 1990s.
Since 2011, he has been married to model and actress Eileen Rene Prudhont, who has a daughter named Rene Hilterbrandt from a previous marriage. He has a daughter, Kiana Monique Prudhont, from an earlier marriage.
He took a break from the entertainment industry between late 2018 and June 2022 after being appointed and subsequently elected as Nye County Treasurer in Nye County, Nevada.
