Dee Christian, known as "Deke" Anderson, embodies tenacity in pursuing his dream of acting. In high school, weighing just 138 pounds, he was an All-State Center for the Reno High Huskies. By 19, he owned northern Nevada's largest bodybuilding gym, training to become a four-time State Champion bodybuilder and employing Kane Hodder, famed for playing "Jason" in "Friday the 13th." Deke’s passion for acting began with the Nevada Opera Guild, performing in numerous musicals. After a memorable role throwing Kevin Costner's character off a bridge in "Stacy's Knights," he moved to Hollywood in 1982. There, he started Deke's Muscled Cabs in Westwood, a pedi-cab business that supported him initially. His first Los Angeles job led to a Taft-Hartley waiver into SAG.
For over 40 years following that, Deke has enjoyed a thriving career both in front of and behind the camera. He directed and field-produced 63 episodes of "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol" across eight states, gaining a strong practical understanding of production, which makes him a highly dependable actor. His versatile acting skills are showcased in his reels, portraying a wide range of characters including dads, executives, psychos, Satan, and comedic roles. Deke has also contributed to iconic film and TV moments: he appeared as Tiny Ash tormenting Bruce Campbell in Sam Raimi’s cult classic "Army of Darkness," played Randy, the stripper love interest at Lilith's bachelor party on "Cheers," portrayed the spoiled rich suitor failing with Madonna in the "Material Girl" music video, and was cast as a series regular in what was reportedly the most expensive CBS TV pilot at the time.
With his extensive experience, Deke is not only a remarkable actor but also an exceptional acting instructor. He has enjoyed mentoring students at Next Level Acting Studios, a prominent acting school in Hollywood and the Southeast. Deke currently splits his time between Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia depending on filming schedules, but he calls Texas home, living there with his wife, daughter, and Schnauzer.
