Biografia
Director, writer, and producer of feature films.
Darren was born in Parramatta, a suburb on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia.
He attended Northmead High School (now a performing arts high school), where he studied art, music, and drama.
While there, he participated in a Shakespeare review, playing Hamlet, represented the school in basketball, rugby league, and rugby union, and had his Year 12 artwork featured in "Art Express."
Having played in bands since age 15, Darren pursued a music career until the late 1990s. By the end of 1999, he shifted focus but continued performing while beginning to work as an actor, taking various bit parts and extra roles. His first professional role was in the docu-drama *Something About AJ* (2002), with principal photography from December 2000 to February 2001.
Soon after, Darren secured additional acting roles in local television, stage productions, independent and studio films, as well as US TV pilots.
During the 1990s, he spent several years at Sydney’s radio station 2CCR, hosting and co-hosting shows. He also ventured into voice-over work, lending his voice to independent animations and several regional television campaigns.
Currently focused on his roles in front of the camera as a writer, director, and producer, Darren’s films have been shown to international audiences. He has earned praise for his "keen sense of story, flow, and movement" and is recognized on set as "an actor’s director," inspiring performers through empathy and understanding.
