Sebastian Siegel is a British-American director, producer, author, entrepreneur, and TEDx speaker. He wrote, produced, and directed the feature film Grace and Grit, based on the true story by Ken Wilber. Grace and Grit premiered at The Chinese Theatre IMAX and is available for streaming in the U.S. on Apple and Amazon. His series, The Eight Questions, consists of 51 episodes currently streaming on YouTube.
Grace and Grit has ranked among the top trending true love story films on Netflix across several Latin American countries. The Mexican Consulate honored the film with a special screening to celebrate the Latin values of commitment portrayed in its storytelling and artistry. Despite being ahead of its time for mainstream critics, the movie received praise from numerous global figures and audiences.
Siegel is the son of Lee Siegel, an Indian religions professor and esteemed writer. His grandfather, Leonard Thompson, was a Yale professor of South African history and an active anti-apartheid advocate. Sebastian entered college at fifteen to study theatre and earned the drama prize at Kent School.
He expresses deep appreciation for immersive Zen practice, rigorous fitness, and the works of authors such as Alan Watts, Ken Wilber, Dr. James Hollis, along with various philosophers and artists. His friend and mentor James Whitmore also greatly influences him.
