James W. LaVeck is an American actor, filmmaker, and author whose work explores themes of transformation, resilience, and the human condition. After a three-decade hiatus from performing, LaVeck returned to acting during the pandemic, rediscovering a passion that first took shape in the 1980s and '90s. His renewed commitment to storytelling has since led to an impressive slate of film, television, and theater credits.
LaVeck made his feature debut in Beach Chain (dir. Ralph A. Celestin), followed by a lead role in Spy Balloon, portraying a disciplined military commander. He continues to collaborate with Celestin and other emerging filmmakers on projects that span drama, dark comedy, and psychological thrillers. His recent work includes recurring appearances on the satirical Parody News Network and performances in Our Last Goodbye, The Circus, and Late, where he is known for bringing emotional depth and quiet strength to complex characters.
On stage, LaVeck has been featured in multiple productions with StageWorks Performing Arts, including Rumors, Binge-Watch Broadway, and Life in Plastic. Trained under Del Shores and Mat Hayes at Del Shores Production Studio, he continues to refine his craft in both film and television performance.
