Biografia
Since 2009, Sara Carinhas has been studying under Polina Klimovitskaya. She holds a degree in Artistic Studies from Faculdade de Letras, Lisbon University.
As an actress, she has collaborated with Adriano Luz, Ana Tamen (Jean Racine), Beatriz Batarda, Cristina Carvalhal (Mayenburg), Fernanda Lapa (Euripides), João Mota (Edmond Rostand), Luís Castro (Raúl Brandão), Nuno Cardoso (Anton Chekhov and William Shakespeare), Marco Martins (Jean Genet), Nuno Carinhas (Bertolt Brecht), Olga Roriz, Ricardo Aibéo (Georg Büchner), Ricardo Pais (William Shakespeare), and Victor Hugo Pontes (Virginia Woolf).
In film, she has worked with Valeria Sarmiento, Manoel de Oliveira, Alberto Seixas Santos, Manuel Mozos, Pedro Marques, Tiago Guedes, Frederico Serra, and Rui Simões. Sara was responsible for dramaturgy, casting direction, and actors' direction in the film "Snu," directed by Patrícia Sequeira.
She received the "Young Talent L'Oréal Paris Award" at the Estoril Film Festival for her role in the film "Coisa Ruim" (2008). In 2015, she earned the "Portuguese Authors Society Prize," an "Honorable Mention" from the Portuguese Theatre Critics Association, and the Portuguese "Golden Globe" for her performance in "Farse" by Raúl Brandão, directed by Luís Castro.
As a stage director, she directed and adapted "The Waves" by Virginia Woolf (2013) and co-created "Orlando," also by Woolf. In 2018, she directed "Limbo" featuring an international cast.
