Ali Dee Theodore brings over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry as a songwriter, producer, composer, artist, and Executive Music Producer. In 1989, he signed a recording deal with Chrysalis Records for his group The Next School, the first African American and White rap duo. From 1990 to 1993, Dee joined the renowned Hip Hop production team, The Bomb Squad. During Hip Hop's Golden Era, he wrote and produced for artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim, YBT, Arron Hall, Slick Rick, Dana Dane, Mary J. Blige, Natasha Bedingfield, Kool G Rap, and M.O.P., among many others.
In 2002, Dee shifted his focus from recording artists to creating music for film and television, recognizing the vast opportunities in this field. He has written songs and produced music for over 250 feature films and ranks as the third highest-grossing Executive Music Producer based on worldwide box office revenue.
His songs have amassed over one billion streams on Spotify and more than two billion views on YouTube.
In 2008, Dee received an American Music Award for his original songwriting and production on the blockbuster franchise Alvin & The Chipmunks. He later served as Executive Music Producer for the franchise's second and third installments, The Squeakquel and Chipwrecked.
Dee has contributed to numerous hit Disney franchises and films, including Z-O-M-B-I-E-S, Descendants, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Shake It Up, Kickin' It, Teen Beach Musical, and Hannah Montana. In 2013, he produced the triple-platinum, #1 Billboard single "Cups" by Anna Kendrick. In 2015, Nick Jr. enlisted him to write and produce 52 original songs for the animated series ALVINNN!!! And the Chipmunks, featured in seasons 1 and 2.
Key highlights from Dee's extensive career include producing the cast of NBC's RISE in their cover of Macklemore's "Glorious," featured in a Super Bowl LII commercial; producing Rachael Platten's single "Wonder" for the film Wonder Park; writing and producing JoJo Siwa's single "D.R.E.A.M.," the title track for her album and first national tour; serving as Executive Music Producer for the latest SpongeBob SquarePants film, Sponge On The Run, where he also co-wrote and produced the Snoop Dogg/Monsta X single "How We Do"; writing and producing five songs for Netflix's Julie & The Phantoms; creating the theme song for the Mattel/Netflix reboot of He-Man: Masters of the Universe; composing original music for Nickelodeon's Bubble Guppies and Noggin; and producing and co-writing for Atlantic Records and NBC's primetime series American Song Contest.
