Biografia
Robyn Ross was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to a Canadian mother and an American father, both of Jewish descent. Her artistic journey began as a toddler on the fashion runway, and she grew up deeply involved in regional musical theatre while witnessing the rise of Vancouver's vibrant film and television scene. In the 1990s, Robyn relocated to New York City to study at the esteemed Michael Howard Acting Studios. She has a daughter, Siena, born at Beth Israel Hospital in NYC. Robyn splits her time between New York and her hometown of Vancouver, having also lived in Los Angeles, Orlando, and Florence, Italy.
Her acting career encompasses both stage and screen. Recently, she portrayed the dual roles of Katherine and Olive in Bianca Kenna's play Hotello at The Cultch in Vancouver, as well as Sylvie in Claude Solnik's Takedown at Theatre for the New City in New York. She is set to appear as Diane Fraser in the upcoming 2026 television series Every Year After, adapted from Carly Fortune’s New York Times bestseller Every Summer After. In the series, she plays the mother of Persephone "Percy" Fraser, portrayed by Sadie Soverall.
Alongside acting, Robyn is a highly regarded acting coach, working with clients on diverse productions across North America—including Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, Calgary, Utah, and Newfoundland—for outlets such as Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV, Hulu, Epix, CBC, and Hallmark, as well as internationally in the UK, France, and Germany. She frequently serves as a guest instructor at Shoreline Studios and Langara Film Arts, has taught at New Image College, and conducted theatre workshops at Simon Fraser University.
Robyn co-wrote The Suicide Club, a two-act play with longtime collaborator Jennifer Copping (Debris, Devil in Ohio), scheduled for production in early 2027. Together with actor David Kaye (Siren, Private Eyes West Coast), she co-developed a screenplay that has been optioned, and she authored a children’s book set for release in October 2026. Beyond acting, coaching, and writing, Robyn is an accomplished makeup artist whose work has been featured in campaigns, publications, and collaborations with renowned photographers and international fashion and music brands.
Reflecting on her diverse career, Robyn often cites the saying, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." She embraces this philosophy, feeling fortunate to express her creativity across multiple artistic disciplines.
