Biografia
Daniel Leite, a cinema graduate from Université Lumière Lyon II in France, is a Director of Photography working across Cinema, Television, and Advertising.
In television, Daniel was the cinematographer for the acclaimed national series "Pablo e Luisão," seasons one and two.
For feature films, he directed the cinematography of "Lima Barreto Ao Terceiro Dia" (Globo films) and "O Rj de Ho Chi Minh," shot in Vietnam (Pipa distributing). He also worked on fiction series such as "Cinema de Enredo," "Tudo Novo de Novo," "Aline," and "Relógio da Aventura" (Globo), along with several short films, including "Bodas," which was screened at Cannes in 2016.
In documentaries, Daniel is the Author, Director, and Director of Photography for the feature film "Kabadio, time is not in a hurry, walks barefoot," filmed in southern Senegal. This film won Best Cinematography at the International Heritales Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, and was selected for over thirty festivals worldwide, including Rio Festival 2016, AFFRIF Nigeria, EFF BRICS Russia 2016, Cine Cipó 2017 Brazil, Cine Mis 2018 Brazil, Black Star Film Festival Ghana, Sofia Biting Docs Bulgaria, and Social Machinery Italy.
He co-directed and was Director of Photography for the series "Expedição Oriente" (Fantástico and Nat Geo), documenting the Schurmann Family’s travels through Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Antarctica. Daniel authored, directed, and was Director of Photography for the sports series "Surfe no Oeste da África" (Canal Off) and directed photography for the documentary "Vidas Embarcadas," filmed aboard the Brazilian Antarctic ship H44. He also led cinematography for the TV shows "Papel de Pai" and "Reforma de Casais" (GNT).
Committed to national Black cinema and having visited Africa many times, Daniel directed the cinematography for the documentary "Falas Negras" (Globo). He is currently developing humanitarian film and book projects for the village of Kabadio in southern Senegal.
Most recently, he directed the photography for the nationally successful program "Avisa lá que eu vou" (Fantástico / GNT).
