Jeff Consiglio's career as a film editor includes one Academy Award win, a second Academy Award nomination, Emmy awards, a Grammy, a Peabody, and numerous film festival honors. He received a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Documentary Editing for the HBO Max feature "LFG" and earned the SXSW Film Festival Special Jury Award for Editing for "Twinsters." Jeff co-directed the documentary feature "Never Too Late: The Doc Severinsen Story" alongside F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Executive Producer Kevin Bright, and produced and edited the documentary feature "On These Grounds," both of which garnered awards at various film festivals.
Jeff began studying film in the small film department at Virginia Tech University, where he was one of a few students under the mentorship of Jerry Scheeler, a key influence and lifelong friend. Scheeler later advocated for Jeff to return to Virginia Tech to deliver the commencement speech for the 2003 College of Liberal Arts and Sciences graduates. Jeff's initial editing work took place in Washington, D.C., with the Discovery Channel, leading to his first documentary feature, "The Ballad of Bering Strait," directed by Nina Gilden-Seavey, which won the Audience Favorite award at the Washington D.C. International Film Festival. After moving to Los Angeles, Jeff edited music videos for artists such as Beck, David Gray, and Katy Perry, as well as film and television main title sequences and trailers. He then embarked on a long-term collaboration with directors Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine, working on films including the Oscar-winning "Inocente" and the Peabody Award-winning "Life According To Sam."
In addition to editing, Jeff has produced several documentary films and served as a consultant on many others. He has also been a guest lecturer and seminar presenter at various schools, universities, and festivals. Together with cinematographer Alexandre Naufel, Jeff formed madeinhollywoodusa, a partnership that has produced award-winning short films, a short documentary series, and NFT art.
