Julia Pistor brings over twenty years of leadership experience in family entertainment, excelling as both a Content Producer and Senior Executive. Her expertise spans feature films, TV, streaming, branded content, and consumer products. A versatile leader, she blends creative skills with strong management to develop and produce engaging stories and IP in animation and live action, drive strategic initiatives, and foster collaborative partnerships. Julia remains inspired by the constantly evolving ways stories are told and shared.
During her tenure as a film producer and executive in Nickelodeon's branded feature film division, Julia identified and produced more than fifteen successful animated and live-action franchise films, including The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, The Rugrats films, Nacho Libre, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Charlotte's Web, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Good Burger, and Harriet the Spy.
In 2015, Julia joined the flagship Barbie brand as Chief Content Officer, playing a pivotal role in transforming the $1.5 billion-plus brand into a modern, inspirational, and highly profitable platform for girls and women. She developed and implemented a comprehensive 360 content strategy that positioned Barbie as the first-ever animated YouTube influencer, amassing over 10 million subscribers. She also launched a top-ranked Netflix animated series, Dreamhouse Adventures; the brand's first preschool franchise extension, Dreamtopia; and the award-winning Hulu documentary Tiny Shoulders. Additionally, she oversaw the development of the record-breaking live-action Barbie feature film.
Julia leads her own production and consulting company, serving clients such as will.i.am, HiT Entertainment, Overbrook, Great Wolf Lodge, and Cartoon Network. At Cartoon Network, she produced the Emmy and Annie Award-winning film Firebreather with Peter Chung. More recently, she produced The Magician's Elephant feature film for Netflix Animation Studios.
Raised in the American Foreign Service, Julia was born in Africa, lived in India, and spent much of her childhood in London. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Producers Guild of America, Women in Animation, and the Television Academy.
