Angelique Bates, a California native of Haitian, Bahamian, and Indigenous heritage, graduated high school at just fifteen. This exceptionally talented woman is a seasoned veteran in the entertainment industry. As a member of SAG, AFTRA, and ASCAP, Angelique has been involved in show business since she was nine months old, both in front of and behind the camera. You might recognize her from the #1 hit Nickelodeon show "All That," where she was an original cast member for two seasons. Her episodes continue to air daily or weekly worldwide, attracting fans of all ages, from toddlers to adults.
The year 2023 has started strong for Angelique. She is a passionate Mental Health advocate as well as a survivor and advocate for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault victims. She has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the White House and AmeriCorps, along with acknowledgments from a Georgia Senator and the City of Anaheim, California. Additionally, Angelique earned the Women's Empowerment Leadership Award. In 2021, she was honored with a YouTube plaque celebrating over 200,000 views for an international children’s single she featured on. She also served as the National Celebrity Spokesperson for Strike Out 4 Domestic Violence (S04DV), drawing from her own experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse, rape, and child abuse. Angelique has actively contributed to organizations such as My Friends House, Feed The Children, Habitat for Humanity (LA), Hashtag Lunch Bag (Atlanta), La Mission (LA), and Union Rescue Mission (LA), among others. She frequently participates in events supporting our courageous troops.
Angelique made a notable return to the screen with appearances on Comedy Central’s "Eric & Tim's Awesome Show," Russ Parr’s feature film, and BET’s "35 and Ticking," starring Kevin Hart, Meagan Good, and Tamala Jones. Look out for her in several upcoming TV and film projects slated for 2021. She starred in the films "Bitter" and "Puzzled," which has been featured at festivals, appeared in Amazon Prime’s "The Assist," and Tami Roman’s "Bonnet Chronicles" on Tidal.
At sixteen, Angelique was mentored by Damon Wayans and Dave Chappelle and gave her first paid professional stand-up performance at the Laugh Factory, hosted by Jay Mohr and covered by Entertainment Tonight. She has received training and mentorship from numerous Hollywood legends throughout her career, including award-winning actress Marla Gibbs, actress Betty A. Bridges, actor Art Evans, Olympian coach Tommie Smith, martial arts champion and actor Jim Kelly, Lamont McLemore of the 5th Dimension, actor and recording artist Malcolm Jamal-Warner, comedians Dave Chappelle and Damon Wayans, actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, and many others. In addition to acting, Angelique is a professional print and runway model, dancer, producer, director, acting coach, motivational speaker, spiritual life coach, and trained martial artist skilled in weaponry.
Angelique is currently developing new projects set to release this year. Far beyond a triple threat, she is a genuine legend.
