Actor born in Loma Linda, California, and a descendant of the Holcomb family pioneers—gold miners and citrus growers from San Bernardino County. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California. At the recommendation of casting director Eddie Foy III, he joined Screen Gems and Columbia Pictures. Starting as a mailboy on the Gower Street lot, he became a messenger for Hollywood legends such as William Wyler, William Castle, Richard Brooks, Ross Hunter, and others. Discovered on the lot by the legendary producer Jack L. Warner, he was cast by Warner and director Peter H. Hunt in the film adaptation of Broadway's '1776.' This was the final movie shot on Columbia's historic backlot and Jack Warner's last Hollywood film. His other film credits include 'Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,' 'Hooper,' 'Jokes Your Folks Never Told You,' and 'Missouri Breaks.' His television appearances span series such as 'The Young and the Restless,' 'The Waltons,' 'Medical Center,' 'Shazam!,' 'One Day at a Time,' and 'Cheers.' He featured in TV movies like 'Sandburg's Lincoln,' 'Helter Skelter,' and 'Friendly Fire,' and portrayed Schroeder in the 1973 Hallmark Hall of Fame production of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" for NBC. While under contract with Universal, he played Darryl in the 1979 TV series 'The Curse of Dracula.' His experience in historical recreations and production led to numerous roles as a producer, writer, and director.
