Renowned for his powerful performances, Dean gained recognition in Oscar and Emmy-winning director Allie Light's drama 'Any Wednesday,' an official selection at the Mill Valley Film Festival and featured as Movie Of The Week on SHORTSTV, where he portrayed a homeless Iraq war veteran struggling with PTSD.
Dean appears in the #1 Netflix film 'Voicemails for Isabelle,' starring Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson, playing the role of Jim. He also stars in CBS's hit series 'Watson' alongside Morris Chestnut as Earnest 'Ernie' Hines, Amazon's Emmy-winning 'The Man In The High Castle' as Mingus Jones, and the Disney+ supernatural series 'Coven Academy' as Bloodtender.
His film credits include notable supporting roles in Brad Anderson's Netflix thriller 'Fractured' with Sam Worthington and Lifetime's 'Robin Roberts Presents: Stolen by My Mother: The Kamiyah Mobley Story,' featuring Niecy Nash, which became the top-rated telecast on all television.
A former high school basketball Nike All-American, Dean led his team to an undefeated 29-0 season, securing the New York State and Federation titles, and earning a Top 25 USA TODAY ranking. He was honored as MVP, Westchester County's "Mr. Basketball," and selected for the All New York first team. As a tenth grader, he ranked among New York's top five scorers, averaging 27.5 points per game.
Dean attended the University of South Alabama on a full scholarship, graduating with a degree in Business Management. He pursued acting training from various mentors, notably Rus Blackwell, a 'Circle in the Square' graduate, and Tina Sattin at New York's 'Open Cage Theater.' He made a notable impact as the lead in the dramatic production 'Are You Ready' at the Westchester Broadway Theater under Sattin's direction and received mentorship from Oscar winner Ruby Dee, Ossie Davis, and Lynn Washington, mother of Denzel Washington.
Serving as the Water Ambassador to Ghana, Dean is also a lifetime member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
A native of Mount Vernon, New York—a city known for producing prominent figures in sports and entertainment such as Denzel Washington, Heavy D, JB Smoove, Al B. Sure, P. Diddy, and NBA players Ben Gordon and Gus Williams—Dean currently resides in Vancouver, Canada, and Los Angeles, California.
He dedicates his free time to coaching basketball and mentoring youth with the Uprep AAU organization.
Dean is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Bases Loaded Entertainment Group, a film and music production company, and is emerging as a rising star involved in the development of multiple film and television projects.
