Biografia
Rebecca Staab was born in Hays, Kansas, and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She excelled academically, maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout both high school and college.
With a busy career, Rebecca recently completed a Netflix film playing the wife of Dennis Quaid and the mother of Milo Ventimiglia’s character. She currently appears in Netflix’s top-rated series, The Night Agent, alongside Gabriel Basso.
She made a notable impact in the season 3 finale and season 4 of Superman & Lois, primarily working with Michael Cudlitz and Dylan Walsh. Her other notable roles include starring in Netflix’s hit comedy film Love Hard with Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O. Yang, Harry Shum Jr., and James Saito.
Rebecca portrayed the original Marvel superhero Susan Storm, The Invisible Girl, in the cult classic film The Fantastic Four and reprised her role in the recent Fantastic Four: First Steps.
On the big screen, audiences can see Rebecca co-starring in Breakthrough with Chrissy Metz, Topher Grace, Josh Lucas, and Mike Colter, as well as in The Miracle Season alongside William Hurt and Helen Hunt.
She was a series regular on ABC’s thriller Somewhere Between, playing Colleen Dekizer, working with Devon Sawa and Paula Patton.
In The Chronicle Mysteries series, Rebecca appears as the Society Editor and Know-It-All, Eileen Bruce, a series regular.
Rebecca also stars as a lead series regular in the project Manopause.
Fans fondly remember her for her sharp barroom scenes with Tate Donovan in Love Potion No. 9, as well as for her role in the popular TAG body spray commercials as the seductive Mrs. Robinson-MILF.
She played the lead in the independent film A House on a Hill with Philip Baker Hall and appeared in the critically praised film A Perfect Ending with John Heard.
Her other regular TV roles include Sherry Beck, a provocative anchorwoman on Live Shot; vampire Daphne Collins in the reboot of Dark Shadows; Ellen Sommers, the first lesbian character on NBC’s Trade Winds; and Elizabeth Barrington, a billionaire widow, vampire, and fashion designer on Port Charles.
Recently, Rebecca has been featured in several popular Hallmark Channel films and acclaimed series such as Masters of Sex, Dexter, Glee, Fairly Legal, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, CSI, CSI: NY, NCIS, and Nip/Tuck. She is also recognized from classic network shows including Cheers, Seinfeld, Ellen, The Wonder Years, Columbo, Beverly Hills, 90210, and The Drew Carey Show.
Before acting, Rebecca spent three years as a professional model based in Paris, working extensively on location across Italy, Germany, and Japan, appearing on magazine covers, billboards, and international campaigns. She later moved to New York and continued modeling with the Ford agency.
Her acting career began with her first audition landing her the role of punk-rocker Cecelia Thompson on ABC’s Loving, followed by a series regular role as Jessie Matthews on Guiding Light.
An avid traveler, Rebecca has explored destinations worldwide, including Russia, Costa Rica, Italy, Bali, Japan, Austria, France, Singapore, Estonia, Kauai, Crete, Zihuatanejo, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Helsinki, the Canary Islands, Tunisia, St. Barts, Tahiti, and Tulum. She is skilled in a variety of outdoor adventure sports and maintains a garage filled with related gear.
Rebecca is passionate about architectural restoration. She recently completed a year-long, comprehensive renovation of a 100-year-old home, transforming it from a dilapidated state into a cherished historic gem. She has renovated every home she has lived in and actively seeks new restoration projects. Additionally, she contributes her construction skills to Habitat for Humanity initiatives.
Together with her longtime partner William deVry, Rebecca is deeply involved in dog rescue. They foster dogs at risk of euthanasia, rehabilitate them, and find permanent, loving homes. They currently have five dogs and often care for additional dogs in transition. They reside in a registered historic home in the Hollywood Hills, where Rebecca excels in landscape architecture, interior design, and gourmet cooking.
Rebecca studied acting under Uta Hagen at HB Studios in New York City and with Larry Moss in Los Angeles.
