Biografia
Sergio Esquenazi is a screenwriter and filmmaker. He spent three years in Los Angeles working as a director for commercials and music videos.
In Argentina, he created several TV series, including "Black Code," a dark police drama he wrote and directed, which aired on Channel 7 Argentina and became the highest-rated program on the network.
He is the author of the novel The Place and the short story collection Night Stories.
Esquenazi directed the English-language feature films Dead Line and Bone Breaker.
His first Spanish-language feature was the Spanish-Argentine production Winter Visitor (Visitante de Invierno), the first Argentine horror film released theatrically in Argentina in twenty years. In 2008, he directed Number 8, starring Diego Alonso and international model Sofia Zámolo. In early 2009, he directed They Want My Eyes, a horror film written by Demian Rugna.
In 2010, Esquenazi collaborated with Hunt Lowry (longtime Warner Bros. producer) on The Testament, based on John Grisham's novel. However, the project was delayed and remains on hold.
In an interview, he mentioned taking time off between 2010 and 2011 to focus on his family, including his wife and two children.
In 2012, he wrote Bonavena, a screenplay based on the life of Ringo Bonavena, Argentina's greatest heavyweight boxer.
By 2013, he revealed to Dead Central Blood that he was developing Fractum, a film blending science fiction, horror, and drama, as well as non-horror projects like Legend, a biopic about Juan Manuel Fangio, the greatest race car driver ever.
That same year, he directed Leviatán, a gritty drama, and prepared Kosher Effect, an action comedy. These projects led him to divide his time between Marbella, Barcelona, Milan, and Buenos Aires.
