Krista Errickson was an American actress active from 1978 to 1992 and a lifetime member of the Actors Studio. She appeared in films and television during the 1980s and 1990s, best known for her breakout role in the 1980 film Little Darlings and the 1989 movie Mortal Passions, for which she received several acting awards, including the Deauville and Taormina Best Actress Awards. Her TV credits include co-starring roles in Hello, Larry (1979), Tour of Duty (1987), and Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990).
Errickson transitioned to journalism, beginning her career with RAI's Channel 1 and then hosting for Italy’s first private radio station, followed by work at RAI International and RAISAT. She won the Best Emerging Young Journalist (Giovane Personalità) award in 1995.
As a senior producer and journalist, Errickson focused on current events and international politics, particularly Middle East relations. Notable programs include The Yellowcake Uranium Scandal (2007), RAWA's Meena: The Story of a Revolutionary (2006), and In the Name of God (1996), which examined Iran's Islamic fundamentalism. She was the first female journalist to interview Sheikh Sayyid Hassan Nasrullah for her documentary Inside the Hezbollah (2001), which inspired an award-winning book she coauthored. For CBS and Discovery, she served as co-executive producer on controversial documentaries such as The Mysterious Man of the Shroud (1997), Inside the Vatican, and The Genetic Revolution (1998), a four-part series revealing secret genetic experiments by Monsanto Corporation. Her accolades include two Boccaccio Awards for Program of the Year, the Pasolini Award, and the Film Advisory Board Award for Best Documentary.
Errickson also worked as a contributing development director for GRB Productions, GA & A Productions, Capmar Productions, and DocLab Productions, producing content for major American cable channels. She served as a segment and field producer for Sundance Channel, The Learning Channel, Discovery Channel, and the CBC.
Until 2008, she was an intelligence analyst at a Washington, DC think tank. In 2007, she participated in a mission to Pakistan and Afghanistan that led to negotiating the release of a kidnapped Italian journalist from the Taliban. In 2008, she helped a political prisoner escape from an Iranian jail, an event covered by The New York Times. For her work in Iran, she received the Filippo Mazzei Award and The Bridge Iran-It.
Errickson currently works as a freelance journalist and is president of Free Verse Productions, which develops and produces documentaries and news programs focused on political, human interest, and human rights issues. She contributes to Italy's La Repubblica.
She holds a B.A. in Political Science and earned a master's degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Wales at Lampeter in 2008. Errickson was married to journalist and Deputy Director of RAI International, Piero Di Pasquale. She is a member of the International Press Association, Foreign Press Association, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and the Daniel Pearl Foundation.
Errickson is the granddaughter of renowned Broadway set designer Jo Mielziner, who created scenery and lighting for over 200 productions, many considered American classics. She is also goddaughter to the late Elia Kazan, celebrated American film and theatre director, producer, screenwriter, novelist, and co-founder of the Actors Studio in New York in 1947.
