Dwight Turner is an award-winning actor, producer, casting director, and director with a diverse career spanning film, television, commercials, voice-over, theatre, and print. A professional performer since 1992, he is recognized for his versatility and strong on-screen presence. He is credited as a Newscaster in the blockbuster Bad Boys: Ride or Die, appearing in multiple scenes, and has featured in series such as Chicago Fire, Terror Lake Drive, Fatal Attraction, Murder Comes to Town, Betrayed, and 1000 Ways to Die. His leading role in the independent short The Contradictory Couple won Best Short at Louisville's International Festival of Film, while Out-Sorcery premiered at Comic-Con following a nomination for excellence in genre performance. Turner has also starred in independent features like The Deported (alongside Nicholas Turturro, Talia Shire, and Kathrine Narducci), Anything But Christmas, and Gradation, all available on streaming platforms.
Turner began his casting career with projects including the feature Queen of the Ring and the television series Into the Wild Frontier and Relative Justice. He later founded Turner Casting, where he has cast projects such as the documentary REP and commercials for Buffalo Trace, the University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union, and a regional Super Bowl spot, showcasing his sharp talent-spotting abilities across various formats.
As CEO of Movie Town Productions, Turner acts as Executive Producer and Director of the documentary REP, which delves into the lives of freshman state representatives. He also served as a Content Programmer for Warner Bros. Online, managing productions from development through completion. A former member of the SAG-AFTRA Nashville Board, Turner advocated for performers and supported the local creative community. Additionally, he has contributed as a judge and festival coordinator for Louisville's International Festival of Film.
