Биография
Walter hailed from a family of American nomads—by age 18, he had attended more than a dozen schools across the U.S., each presenting its own challenges. In every situation, he learned to "improvise, adapt, and overcome." These hard-earned skills helped him secure consecutive full-ride acting scholarships at the University of Michigan and Brandeis University. After earning his M.F.A. in acting and speech at just twenty-four, he appeared in over 250 professional stage productions worldwide.
Building on his remarkable stage success, Walter smoothly transitioned into film, television, recording, voice-over work, casting, teaching, writing, directing, and producing. His producing credits include Broadway's *A Tale Of Two Cities* at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, Off-Broadway's *Barbara's Blue Kitchen* at the Lamb's Theatre, and the critically and commercially celebrated 30th anniversary revival of *Hair* in Los Angeles. He has also produced numerous star-studded Broadway concerts and celebrity benefit events.
As a performer, Walter was an original cast member in the Broadway productions of *Wicked* (Averick/Boq) and *A Tale Of Two Cities* (Cronie). He is uniquely distinguished as the only *Wicked* cast member to have been with the show from its table read through its successful Broadway opening. His dedication to *A Tale Of Two Cities* included performing the highest ballistic free fall stunt in Broadway history.
His favorite stage roles include Yoko Ono's *New York Rock* (Violence), the title character in *Sweeney Todd*, Riff-Raff in *The Rocky Horror Show*, Tommy in *The Who's Tommy*, and Red Willie in *Western Star* (LA Robby Award winner). He also starred in international tours of *Hair* (Berger), *Jesus Christ Superstar* (portraying Jesus, Judas, and Simon in various productions), and *The Golden Musicals Of Broadway* alongside Jennifer Lopez.
Walter's voice can be heard on original cast recordings of *Wicked* (Grammy-winning and certified platinum), the international cast of *A Tale Of Two Cities*, and *The Prince of Egypt*, featuring the Oscar- and Grammy-winning, platinum-certified single "When You Believe" with Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Other recordings include *Hair* (Los Angeles and European casts), *New York Rock* (featuring the single “Never Say Goodbye”), *Visions*, and Dale Wasserman's *Western Star*.
His notable film and TV credits include *The Black Rose*, *Killers*, *CTU*, *The Merchants Of Venice*, *Dragon Fury II*, *Cyberdorm*, *Baja Run*, *Babylon 5*, *MAD TV*, *Secrets*, *IFC Shorts* (No Dogs Allowed), *Off Madison*, VH1’s *Behind the Music: Hair*, VH1’s *Driven: J’LO*, *Broadway: The American Musical*, *Show Business: The Road To Broadway*, *Late Show With David Letterman*, *The Today Show*, and *The Tony Awards*.
