Ricky Paull Goldin was born on January 5, 1965, in San Francisco, California, to Irish and British parents. He was raised on both sides of the Atlantic and attended Fordham University.
Ricky's entertainment career began at age 3 with appearances on shows such as Romper Room, Alf, Kate & Allie, and 21 Jump Street. By age 15, he had made his Broadway debut starring in On Golden Pond.
He served as executive producer and director of Project Dad for Discovery Life, TLC, and Family networks from 2016 to 2017. Through his production company, DB Goldline, Ricky has created, executive produced, and sold programs to CBS, ABC, MTV, HGTV, TLC, Discovery Family, Discovery Life, ESPN, Viacom, The Style Network, Lifetime, and The Design Network. In 2015, he was executive producer and director of the Parents' Choice Award-winning Chicken Soup for the Soul's Hidden Heroes. That same year, his production team earned two Emmys and a Peabody Award for A Chef's Life.
With a career spanning over three decades in Broadway and television, Ricky has received five Emmy nominations and won four Clio awards. He has appeared in numerous daytime dramas, creating beloved characters as a series regular on Another World, Guiding Light, All My Children, and guest roles on The Young and the Restless and Bold and the Beautiful. In 2014, he both appeared in and produced Beacon Hill, a web series filmed entirely on location in Boston. In 2010, Ricky and his production company honored his late father, Dr. Paul Goldin, a hypnotist and paranormal expert, by creating, hosting, and executive producing Seeing VS Believing, which premiered on TLC in May 2010.
In live theater, Ricky performed in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance in London and Dublin, and played Danny Zuko in the Broadway revival of Grease alongside Brooke Shields and Rosie O'Donnell for over 726 performances.
Ricky has hosted a variety of events, from ESPN auto races in Dubai to 5 Live red carpet Emmy events for Disney/ABC.
Shortly after concluding his role on All My Children, Disney Family.com selected him to star in their collaboration with Kellogg's on a new online advertising series. CeReality, Disney Family's innovative mini-web series, debuted in September 2011. Its first installment, 'The Young and the Breakfast,' humorously parodied the soap opera genre.
Following his appearance on HGTV's Favorite Places, which featured his California home, HGTV offered Ricky his own design series. Spontaneous Construction premiered in February 2013 on HGTV and also aired on the DIY Network.
Ricky currently lives with Gretta Monahan and their son, Kai Rei Goldin.
