Stephen Levinson is an American film and television producer who has earned two Producers Guild of America Awards, a BAFTA Award, two Peabody Awards, and a Golden Globe Award.
He owns and leads Leverage, a talent management and production company through which he executive produced the acclaimed HBO series Entourage, In Treatment, How To Make It In America, and Boardwalk Empire.
Raised in Manhasset Hills, New York, Levinson graduated from Tulane University. He relocated to Los Angeles in 1991 to start his entertainment career after working as an accountant and launching his own clothing company.
Levinson began his Hollywood career at InterTalent, which later became UTA.
In 1996, he founded Leverage to support a select group of accomplished artists in advancing their careers. As his clients achieved greater success, Levinson expanded Leverage’s production division, which gained momentum in 2004 with Entourage’s debut. The show was partially inspired by the life of Levinson’s longtime friend, client, and business partner Mark Wahlberg.
Levinson is also the creator and owner of WhoRepresents.com, an online database of talent representatives across film, television, music, professional sports, and other media. Launched in 2000, WhoRepresents.com has become one of the most widely used services of its kind by media and entertainment professionals. In 2010, he introduced TheQuickList.net, a platform designed for viewing, creating, and sharing casting ideas online.
