Satish Sharma is an Indian actor, producer, and director whose career in cinema spans more than two decades across feature films, international collaborations, advertising, and independent filmmaking. Widely recognized for his versatility, creative depth, and commitment to meaningful storytelling, he has worked extensively across Hindi, regional, and international cinema, both in front of and behind the camera. As an actor, Satish Sharma has appeared in acclaimed films such as Chhapaak, Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II : Agni Pariksha, Saat Khoon Maaf, Agent Vinod, Welcome to Sajjanpur, Well Done Abba, Kathal, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, along with regional and international productions including Take Off, Centipede, Beeper, and Raja Vaska / Poka Shiva Tansuyet. Alongside cinema, he has featured in more than 450 television commercials for leading Indian and international brands, becoming a familiar face across diverse media platforms. Behind the camera, Satish has worked as a producer, line producer, assistant director, and creative collaborator on projects filmed across India, Uzbekistan, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Azerbaijan, and Bangladesh. In the early years of his career, he worked as an Assistant Director with the legendary Shyam Benegal on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero, an association that evolved into a long-standing creative collaboration. He subsequently went on to act in several of Benegal’s acclaimed films and projects, while imbibing the filmmaker’s deeply humanistic and socially conscious approach to cinema. Satish later served as line producer for Mujib: The Making of a Nation, directed by Benegal. The landmark Indo Bangladesh co-production, based on the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, received international recognition and emerged as a major cinematic success in Bangladesh. Satish made his directorial debut with the non-feature film YAAN, which won the National Award for Best Sound Design at the 70th National Film Awards and was screened at several prestigious international film festivals, earning multiple international awards and accolades. His filmmaking reflects a strong inclination toward socially conscious, emotionally truthful, and humanistic narratives. His next short film, KYON, written and directed by him, addresses caste discrimination through the perspective of a child, continuing his pursuit of cinema rooted in social relevance and emotional authenticity. Throughout his career, Satish Sharma has collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers including Shyam Benegal, Vishal Bhardwaj, Meghna Gulzar, Anurag Kashyap, Sriram Raghavan, Faruk Kabir, Mahesh Narayan, and Luv Ranjan, along with renowned production houses such as National Film Development Corporation of India and Panorama Studios. His international collaborations in advertising cinema include working alongside three-time Academy Award-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki and the legendary Ravi Shankar, as well as celebrated Indian advertising and film auteurs including Prahlad Kakkar (Genesis Film Productions), Shoojit Sircar (Rising Sun Films), Gauri Shinde (Red Ice Productions), Pradeep Sarkar (Apocalypso Filmworks), Prasoon Pandey (Corcoise Films), Gajraj Rao (Code Red Films), Prakash Varma (Nirvana Films), Prashant Issar-Sippy (Tubelight Films), Ram Madhvani (Equinox Films), Shashanka Chaturvedi "Bob" (Good Morning Films), Punit Malhotra (Dharma Productions), Rajiv Menon (Rajiv Menon Productions), and Mehul Atha (Morse Code Films), among others.
