Canadian playwright and performer Keir Cutler has created several award-winning solo plays and acted in numerous television and film projects. He has shared scenes with actors such as Ben Stiller, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Eddie Murphy.
His twelve self-written solo theatre works include the acclaimed "Teaching Shakespeare: A Parody" (translated into French as "Fou de Shakespeare"), "Teaching Detroit," a monologue adaptation of Mark Twain's "Is Shakespeare Dead?," as well as "Teaching Witchcraft," "Lunatic Van Beethoven," "Teaching As You Like It," "Teaching the Fringe," "Rant Demon," "Shakespeare Crackpot," "Joan of Arc Ascending," and the award-winning "Magnificence." Additionally, he authored the two-character comedy "Teaching Hamlet," the science fiction play "2056," and the monologue "Civilized," which explores the Indian Residential Schools of Canada.
Cutler has performed his monologues throughout Canada, New York City, London, UK, and four of his solo shows have been broadcast on Bravo!/Canada. Highlights of his solo career include a 2016 sold-out performance at Shakespeare's Globe in London, UK, attended by Sir Derek Jacobi and Sir Mark Rylance (available on YouTube as "Shakespeare Crackpot" Live at Shakespeare's Globe, London, UK), and a 2019 appearance at the Mark Twain Home and Museum in Hartford, Connecticut.

He holds an MA and PhD in theatre from Wayne State University in Detroit, a playwriting diploma from the National Theatre School of Canada, and a BA from McGill University.
During the late 1970s, Keir played football at McGill University, where he once scored three touchdowns in a single game against Concordia University. Although drafted by the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 1979, he did not make the final team roster.
Keir Cutler is married and resides in Canada.
